💜 Mystery Pick – Dumbo Lavender Edition

This Dumbo Lavender Plakat Male Betta Fish is offered as a Mystery Betta, hand-selected by our growers to showcase the signature characteristics of the Dumbo Lavender line. Each fish is chosen for its soft lavender coloration, oversized Dumbo pectoral fins, strong body structure, and balanced short-fin Plakat form.

You won’t know the exact fish until it arrives, making every order a unique surprise. Our team prioritizes healthy body condition, large symmetrical Dumbo fins, attractive lavender coloration, quality finnage, and overall visual balance. If you prefer a deeper purple tone, lighter pastel lavender, or especially large Dumbo ears, leave a note at checkout and we’ll do our best to match your preference based on available stock.

💜🪽 Dumbo Lavender Plakat Betta Bio

Soft color. Giant ears. Serious personality. The Dumbo Lavender Plakat Male Betta Fish combines dreamy lavender coloration with the dramatic oversized pectoral fins that define the popular Dumbo Betta line.

The signature feature is the pair of enlarged Dumbo pectoral fins positioned on each side of the body. These flowing fins resemble miniature wings or elephant ears, creating an elegant appearance as the fish swims through the aquarium.

The Lavender line adds another level of beauty with coloration that may range from soft pastel lavender and lilac to deeper violet, purple-blue, and pearlescent tones. Depending on genetics, maturity, aquarium lighting, and viewing angle, some individuals may also display subtle pink, blue, white, or metallic highlights.

Unlike traditional long-fin Dumbo Bettas, the Plakat form keeps the main fins shorter and more compact. This creates a beautiful contrast between the fish’s muscular body and its oversized pectoral fins, allowing the Dumbo ears to become one of the most noticeable features.

As the fish moves, its large pectoral fins continuously open and close like a pair of small underwater wings. Combined with the lavender body, this creates a graceful swimming appearance while maintaining the strong, athletic profile associated with Plakat Bettas.

Under quality aquarium lighting, the lavender coloration can become especially impressive. Iridescent scales may reflect shades of purple, violet, pearl, blue, and soft pink, giving the fish a slightly different appearance from different viewing angles.

Elegant but full of personality, the Dumbo Lavender Plakat Male Betta is an excellent choice for collectors looking for a Betta that combines unusual pastel coloration, oversized Dumbo fins, and powerful Plakat structure.

💜 Mystery Note: This is a mystery betta listing, so every Dumbo Lavender Plakat Male Betta Fish will be naturally unique. Lavender intensity, body shade, Dumbo fin size, fin coloration, iridescence, and overall appearance may vary from fish to fish. Photos are for reference only. Every fish is hand-picked with priority given to beautiful lavender coloration, prominent Dumbo fins, healthy body structure, quality finnage, and overall visual balance.

🪽 Dumbo Fin Note: Dumbo pectoral fins naturally vary in size, shape, coloration, and pattern. Some individuals may develop extremely large, rounded ears, while others may have slightly smaller or more elongated pectoral fins. Fin coloration can range from lavender and purple to white, translucent, blue, or multicolor depending on the individual fish.

💜 Color Development Note: Lavender Bettas can look different depending on aquarium lighting, background, viewing angle, maturity, and shipping stress. Newly arrived fish may temporarily appear lighter or less saturated. Once settled into warm, clean water with proper nutrition and stable aquarium conditions, their lavender pigmentation, iridescent reflections, and fin coloration may become richer and more defined.

    Betta Care FAQsCommon care questions

Simple answers to help you feel ready for your new betta.

What helps my male betta feel at home?

Start with a cycled, fully aquatic aquarium, a heater and a gentle filter. Keep the water stable at 76–82°F, then add live plants, smooth resting spots and room to swim. Our betta tank setup guide walks you through the basics.

Should I choose a planted or blackwater tank?

Both can make a lovely home. Choose a planted aquarium for fresh greenery, or add aquarium-safe botanicals for a warm blackwater look. Keep heating, gentle filtration and regular care in either setup. Add botanicals gradually and check the water as you go.

How do I choose tank mates for my betta?

A planted home just for him is a great option. If you’d like companions, consider your tank size, water conditions and his individual temperament. Our tank mate notes help you compare fish and shrimp. Watch how they settle in, with separate housing ready if needed.

What if I’d like to explore breeding?

Male and female bettas each need their own everyday home. For experienced keepers planning to breed, prepare a dedicated breeding tank, supervised introductions, separate housing for the adults and food for the fry. When you’re ready to plan, explore our female bettas.

    What’s a simple feeding routine?

Offer quality betta food in small portions, following the feeding guide on the package. Suitable frozen or live foods can add variety. Remove any leftovers after feeding to help keep his aquarium clean.
