Gold Mystery Snail

🐌 Mystery Snail Water Parameters

• 🌡️ Temperature: 20°C - 28°C (68°F - 82°F)
• ⚖️ pH Level: 7.0 - 8.4 (neutral to slightly alkaline)
• 💧 Water Hardness (GH): 8 - 18 dGH (moderate to hard water for strong shell development)
• 🏞️ Carbonate Hardness (KH): 4 - 12 dKH (prevents pH swings and ensures shell health)
• ☀️ Lighting: Moderate (does not require specific lighting conditions)
• 🌱 Substrate: Fine gravel or sand (gentle on the snail’s foot and allows burrowing behavior)
• 💨 CO2 Sensitivity: Avoid high CO2 levels, as it can lower pH and harm the snail’s shell
• 🧪 Calcium Requirement: Essential for strong shell growth; supplement with cuttlebone or calcium-rich foods
• 🌊 Water Flow: Low to moderate (prefers calm water, but can tolerate mild currents)
• 🏠 Tank Size: Minimum 5 gallons per snail (larger tanks support better water stability)

🐌 How to Acclimate New Mystery Snail

🔹 📦 Unpack Carefully – Gently remove the snail from its packaging.

🔹 🧼 Rinse Gently – Use dechlorinated or aquarium water to clean off any debris.

🔹 🌡️ Float to Match Temperature – Place the snail’s container in your tank for 20-30 minutes.

🔹 💧 Drip Acclimate – Slowly add small amounts of tank water to the container over 30-60 minutes.

🔹 🪨 Place in Tank Gently – Set the snail right-side up on a stable surface, not upside down.

🔹 💡 Dim the Lights – Keep lighting low to reduce stress.

🔹 👀 Observe Behavior – It may take time to move; let it adjust naturally.

🔹 🛡️ Check Shell Health – Look for cracks and ensure a calcium-rich diet.

🔹 🥬 Wait Before Feeding – Offer food after 24 hours to allow full acclimation.
